Geopolitical and geoeconomical position of Siberia: Modelling and estimation

This article analyses geopolitical space and geopolitical position based on geopolitical notions and categories, such as geopolitical subject. It rethinks and reevaluates the geographical point of view. It derives attributes of synonymy in notions of geopolitical position and geoeconomical position on some conditions. It represents a model of the geopolitical position of subject examined as a ratio of geopolitical strength of the subject to geopolitical strength of outward subjects as considering the influence of every subject and level of political relation on the scale of “friend-foe”. It takes an estimation of the geopolitical and geoeconomical position of Siberia based on the components of the model and finds features of similarity and difference between the geopolitical position of Siberia and the ideal geopolitical position, and where it can be characterized as profitable. It gets a prognosis of its transformation over the near term with considering conception of diversification of oil flows, realizing at the present time. It draws a conclusion to get generally better position of Siberia due to realizing this policy. Refs 21. Figs 3.
